Woman of Wonder Scholarships

We believe educated women change everything.

Seriously. Everything.

Families become stronger. Businesses become smarter. Communities become more vibrant. Dreams that have been sitting on the back burner for years suddenly become plans.

That's why Woman of Wonder exists.

We provide scholarships to women in Southwest Washington who are pursuing education, training, certifications, and degrees. Some of our scholars are single moms. Some are returning to school after raising families. Some are changing careers. Some are the first in their families to go to college.

All of them are doing something brave.

And bravery deserves backup.

Why "Woman" of Wonder?

People ask us that a lot. (Especially after trying to find us by searching for "women of wonder.")

We intentionally chose the singular "Woman" because we want every scholarship recipient to stand up and boldly say:

"I am a Woman of Wonder."

Not part of a crowd.

Not a statistic.

Not a demographic.

A woman with goals, grit, talent, and a future worth investing in.

What does a scholarship really do?

Sure, it helps pay tuition.

But it also helps pay for possibility.

A scholarship can mean:

• One less financial obstacle
• One more class completed
• One more semester without giving up
• One woman gaining the confidence to pursue a bigger future

The dollars matter.

The message matters too.

When our community invests in women, we're telling them: "We see you. We believe in you. Keep going."

Woman of Wonder isn't just about funding education. We're building a community that celebrates achievement, encourages growth, and champions women who are determined to make a difference in Southwest Washington. We believe kindness matters. We believe learning matters. We believe communities thrive when women have access to opportunity.

Because this is what Southwest Washington does best. Neighbors helping neighbors. People investing in possibility.  A community coming together to create something bigger than any one of us could accomplish alone. And this year, thanks to a $3,000 matching grant from the L.R. Mitchner Philanthropic Fund at the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, every gift goes even further.
