For over 40 years, WCA has been at the forefront of providing services to those healing from domestic abuse and sexual assault. Since its founding, WCA’s crisis program has evolved into one of the most vital, unduplicated, comprehensive programs in our community and region. WCA is proud to be a community leader in providing these critically needed services. We’ve been an important community partner for over 110 years and providing safe spaces for members of our community has always been at the core of our mission. Our services have been an essential part of Idaho’s community and need to be able to keep growing for years to come. Past, present and future survivors deserve resources, education and a chance at a life free of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

The WCA's Mission is safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. Our vision is to foster a community where individuals thrive in safe, healthy relationships.

 In 2024 alone:

68 women and 109 children took advantage of our shelter services, for a total of 9,583 safe bed nights.

  • 2,732 counseling sessions were attended by 419 new adult and child clients.
  • 2,139 calls were answered on the 24-hour crisis hotline (an average of 178 per month).
  • WCA court advocates assisted with 617 of the 709 protection orders filed in Ada County Court.

Many of our clients would not be able to get the help they need without the WCA due to their financial situations. Last year, 66% of the women and children we served reported an income of $8,000 or less.  An additional 20% reported a family income of $12,000 or less.

It is through the generosity of our community, relationships with our partners and support from our corporate pillars that we are able to provide much needed services to victims.
