Your Money Matters

A nonprofit organization

Mission & Vision

Your Money Matters provides financial mentoring and education to youth and young adults in economically vulnerable communities.

The Your Money Matters program provides intensive one-on-one or group mentoring in which economically vulnerable, low income, young people and adult participants will have the help and support they need to learn how to access and participate in their financial health and establish the financial safety nets, habits, and practices that will support them in their efforts to build and protect their assets for themselves and their families, which will have tremendous implications on their lives, and the lives of their current or future children.

Organizational Background

Clinton Taylor, founder of Your Money Matters, launched and managed a successful a financial literacy program in the Puget Sound area from 2014 - 2017, where the program worked with community-based organizations, serving low-income students and families of color,  and immigrant families.

Afterwards, Clinton Taylor was inspired to launch a financial mentoring nonprofit after discovering that even after participating in financial education classes, coaching or counseling sessions, many individuals concluded the course or session thinking, now what? while struggling to implement what they learned. Your Money Matters picks up where these programs leave off. Your Money Matters Financial Mentoring Program was founded in Tacoma, Washington in 2018 to fill a gap that exist with current financial coaching, counseling, advising and financial literacy programs within economically vulnerable, low-income communities and local schools.

Recognition

We are grateful for your community support as donors, volunteers, and organizations. With your help, we are transforming the financial wellbeing of young people across the Puget Sound. We couldn't do it without you.
