Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors Inc. (C.O.P.S.)
Each year, between 140 and 160 officers are killed in the line of duty and their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. C.O.P.S. provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. There is no membership fee to join C.O.P.S., for the price paid is already too high. The Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line-of-duty as determined by Federal criteria. Illinois C.O.P.S. provides emotional and financial support as well as legal assistance to survivors of fallen officers.
Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors responds after line-of-duty deaths to support the surviving family members. We offer support as long as needed to all survivors. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a years, support is just a phone call away.
Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors is a state chapter of the national organization and is dependent on charitable donations and fundraisers. Illinois C.O.P.S. is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax deductible according to current IRS regulations. Illinois C.O.P.S. does not use telemarketers or phone solicitation at any time or in any way! All contributions directly benefit the families of fallen law enforcement officers in Illinois.
How does the money benefit the families? IL C.O.P.S helps each family financially by helping pay for the transportation and lodging to both the State Police Memorial wall, and the National wall in Washington DC. Money is used for the families to attend survivor conferences where they learn how to rebuild their shattered lives.

The 21th Annual Cycle Across Illinois benefiting Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors will be July 10th - 13th, 2025. Each day, as we travel across Illinois, approximately 370 miles, we are welcomed by grateful families, departments and communities. We all work hard to minimize our expenses so that more money can assist the families by attending memorials and retreats that assist them in their grief journey. We hope you will consider donating to our ride and organization as we continue to support our families and remember our fallen.
