On any weekday afternoon, our lobby fills with small moments that matter. A teen finishing homework at the youth table. A couple meeting with a counselor to navigate family conversations. A newly out neighbor finding their first support group. None of this is flashy. All of it is life-changing.
Affirmations in Ferndale is Michigan’s largest LGBTQ+ community center, serving Southeast Michigan since 1989. About 55,000 people visit our center each year for counseling, support groups, youth programs, vaccine and testing clinics, arts, and community events. Your donation keeps these essential, local services available and welcoming.
What your gift supports:
• Mental-health counseling and peer support led by an affirming therapy team.
• Youth programs, including safe drop-in and leadership opportunities.
• Medical and sexual-health services—confidential HIV/STI testing and vaccines.
• Basic needs and navigation: food, clothing, toiletries, safe showers, and resource planning.
• Free computers and printing through our David Bohnett CyberCenter.
• The people and operations that keep our Ferndale center open, accessible, and safe.
