Things just keep getting worse for Gus and Gigi.

Imagine if you had no county shelter and the closest veterinarian was miles and miles away in a neighboring county. That's the situation that Gus and Gigi found themselves in. They were taken in by the local rescue, but it was full and was having to house their dogs outside, making do with what they have. Unfortunately, in rural areas this is far too common. These two precious 4 month old hound puppies have been living a hard life. Everyone is doing all they can to help them, but resources and finances are tight. So they reached out to Homeward Trails for help.

Things couldn't get worse for them, right? Wrong. They were preparing to be transported to Homeward Trails when they became critically ill. Gus has uncontrollable vomiting and Gigi is dehydrated with severe diarrhea. They were rushed to the closest veterinarian and have been hospitalized and diagnosed with potentially deadly parvovirus. The photos above show them receiving lifesaving treatment. We can't turn our backs on them just because they are fighting for their lives. We want them to beat parvo and then we'll be ready to transport them to Homeward Trails. Please help us get them the care they need and set them up for a lifetime of hope and cuddles.
