InnovationsCZ to the StartUP Grind

Almost a billion people live in war torn countries with doctors desperate to provide quality healthcare.   In the case of war and conflict however,  systems fail.  Imagine being in Syria with no ultrasound gel because war disrupted your supply-chain or Democratic Republic of Congo without narcotics to treat your patients pain because your failed government  could not negotiate the trade regulations.  How powerless is it to use medications you know are counterfeit because your government is not equipped to oversee drug quality.

InnovationsCZ is a non-profit innovation lab with offices in California, Democratic Republic of Congo and Ethiopia.  We solve healthcare deficits in conflict areas and complex emergencies.   We invent new products, create new programs and design new techniques with uncompromising quality to fill healthcare gaps.

Using human-centered-design methodology, InnovationsCZ identifies local healthcare deficits and then brainstorms on how to design and prototype products for inexpensive and locally available solutions.  Observational studies, validations, and randomized control trials ensure benefits are real and no harm is done.

InnovationsCZ has had significant success and tremendous impact, but the reach is enormous and we need  to scale.  We invented ultrasound-gel from locally grown cassava now used by local hospitals and by Medecins-Sans-Frontiers in Congo, Niger, Kenya & South Sudan but we need funds to expand the program to other war torn countries. We created low-cost pain treatment with ultrasounds and lidocaine in war-torn DRC but other countries now request our teams.  We conducted a proof of concept for low-cost portable drug tester but need to prototype a compact design.

We also have patents on novel products but need funds to test low-cost, high volume manufacturable designs.  Products that could also be sold at significant profit in the Western world.  Ebola camps need our low cost nasal spray medication delivery device and so do US emergency departments.   Low resource hospitals need our gel pads and so do high resource obstetric centers.   Failed governments  need our drug tester and it also has many applications here at home.  

A billion people need more of  our time and innovations.  With funds and expertise, InnovationsCZ can greatly scale  its reach and impact.
