Access Humboldt is YOUR Community Media Center for Humboldt County.  This year, our goal for BOLD D.O.G. is to not be homeless as an organization!  (I know that's a lot).  Our building is being destroyed, and we must be out by May 31st.

We are BOLDLY forging ahead by purchasing a building to create more stability and to provide the community with a central asset with all the tools, education, certificate training, and spaces to make GREAT LOCAL TV & Radio rooted in Free Speech, Government Transparency, Distanced Learning, Digital Media Literacy, and Media Ethics.

This is not a building project, it is an investment in workforce training.  It is an investment in our Youth by creating pipeline education and training programs from K-12 to College and the Digital Workplace.  It is a focal point for community building where Seniors, Veterans, and those looking to learn new digital skills can gather and learn hands-on with a caring staff.  It is a place-making project where our community can explore hands-on digital media arts.

Consider this an emergency "Bricks & Sticks" Campaign where you will be recognized with a limited edition customized VHS Tape painted Bronze, Silver, or Gold on our Donor wall.  The Platimum level is a customized DVD.  Where will our Donor wall be?  TBD.  We have a site selected, we just need a little more help to get us there.

For 20 years now, we have been broadcasting, cablecasting, and streaming locally made content delivered to us by the community, for the community!

We broadcast government/civic meetings from 7 cities, 3 Joint Power Associations, and the County, keeping our government open and accessible to the whole community.   We are a critical part of the information Ecosystem!

We broadcast educational content, expanding minds and sharing cultures. We Partner with The County Library, Cal Poly Humboldt, College Of The Redwoods, Local Tribes and hundreds of Nonprofits to bring you Dance, Music, Poetry, Lectures, and Educational Series.

We offer the training, the tools, and studios so that the local community can make a TV or Radio show authentically in their own voice unfettered by commercialism (Upholding Free Speech)! Social Media is not bound by Free Speech laws the way we are, they profit from YOUR stories, and if they don't like your message they can use an algorithm to suppress it!  Social Media commodifies your usage with spammy commercials and tracks your audience for exploitation.  We are a non-commercial entity and we MUST hold open the channels to community producers (ie. YOU and your neighbors).  WE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE against any Community Producer.  Even if they cannot afford a high production value--which is why some of our content looks the way it does.  We don't cash in on your content, we hold open the channels for YOUR VOICE. Learn more about The Cable Act here.

We are a cornerstone of Democracy upholding Free Speech, keeping Government transparent, and Educating the masses about our differences & similarities by sharing culture, building empathy, and inviting more civic participation.

We are training the 21st Century's Workforce.  Content creation is a new frontier for the work place.  From Video & Audio content creation to Ai Literacy, Digital Media Skills are in demand.  To stay competitive and relevant, Humboldt County residents must have Digital Media Literacy & Ethics training.  Our Adult Education Classes are filling a gap in professional education.
