Affirmations Fundraiser: Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth

Many of you know me personally and professionally. As someone who is both a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and serves on the board at Affirmations, the Lavender Leadership Academy truly means the world to me. Growing up, I didn’t always have access to affirming spaces or mentors who understood my experiences. That’s why I’m so passionate about making sure today’s LGBTQ+ youth can find support, community, and education. This is why I invite you to join me and give to this tremendously impactful program.

The Lavender Leadership Academy at Affirmations offers LGBTQ+ youth and allies (ages 14-22) come together for 10 weeks to learn real-life skills—resume building, job interviews, teamwork, financial basics—and to celebrate who they are, without fear or judgment. I’ve seen what a difference it makes when young people feel valued and empowered, surrounded by peers and adults who genuinely care.

Supporting this program goes beyond donating money—it’s about sending a message to these young people that their dreams matter, that they have a community backing them, and that we believe in their potential. I’m committed to lifting and supporting the education of LGBTQ+ youth.
