Holding powerful corporations accountable is hard. And it takes time.
But with your help, we’re doing it. And we will keep doing it, because Inclusive Development International and the communities we work with are in it for the long haul.
Every struggle is unique, but in all the cases we work on, one thing remains the same: the incredible tenacity of community advocates, our partners and our team, persisting through years-long fights for justice.
This tenacity has paved the way to compensation for thousands of people displaced by development projects. It has stopped forced evictions in their tracks and prevented thousands of acres of old-growth forests from being cleared for industrial mono-crop plantations.
Just this month, after more than a decade of negotiations and advocacy, twelve Indigenous communities we have been accompanying in Northeastern Cambodia signed a framework agreement with the Vietnamese agribusiness giant that grabbed their ancestral lands and bulldozed their forests. It took more than ten years, but this agreement sets the stage for a final settlement including land return of their most sacred lands and financial compensation for the harms the communities have endured.
We're asking for your support to help us sustain these ongoing fights for justice around the world and to take up new ones—to ensure that human rights and a livable planet for all are not sacrificed to the profit-seeking of a few.
