Brandt Beights
Transplant Type: Double Lung
Dear friends and supporters,
Brandt needs a double lung transplant to get back to working and making memories with his daughter.
Brandt, a dedicated construction, and HVAC professional has spent over 45 years working in plumbing and home repair. His passion extends beyond his career, as he generously donates his time to charity repair work, assisting the elderly and those unable to afford these essential services. Brandt's love for helping others has defined his life, making him a cherished member of his community.
Unfortunately, Brandt's life took an unexpected turn in 2018 when he was diagnosed with chronic respiratory failure, including centrilobular and parastatal emphysema, leading to an overall diagnosis of COPD. Despite his valiant efforts, Brandt's health has continued to decline, limiting his mobility even with the aid of oxygen. The joy he found in his work, the outdoors, and helping others has been significantly compromised. Brandt’s health has been continually declining and now his medical team has determined that he now needs a double lung transplant to save his life.
Unfortunately, Brandt’s new lungs come at a very high cost.
The average double lung transplant costs more than $1 million. Even with the support of health insurance, Brandt still faces significant medical expenses following his transplant. Post transplant there will continue to be pressing financial needs including lifetime follow-up care and costly medications. Brandt’s beloved daughter and siblings will be supporting him during the process. This will require them to travel to Brandt and take time off work to assist him, furthering the financial strain on the family.
Your support can make a tangible difference in the lives of patients like Brandt, allowing them to focus on their health and recovery without the burden of financial stress.
Brandt's story is one of resilience, love, and community. Your support can help rewrite the narrative of his life, offering hope for a brighter future filled with the things he loves.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Brandt.
