Local news is in trouble. Help us hire reporters to cover the news at Miami towns and villages

$5,000 goal

As media outlets dwindle, there is consistently less coverage of local news especially in smaller communities like Key Biscayne. That's why it's vitally important to support Miami Fourth Estate to keep the news flowing.

As an Associated Press journalist for the past 38 years _ 15 of them covering Miami and South Florida _ I've watched as layoffs, consolidation, even AI continue to erode news coverage. As a Miami Fourth Estate board member, I'm determined to reverse that trend.

Miami is broken up into 34 towns, many of which rarely get media attention. We're aiming to fix that by hiring professionals who will work alongside concerned residents to create nonpartisan, fact-driven solid news reporting. Development. Government. Schools. Crime. Business. Housing. Climate change.

Being a member fundraiser will help so much in building community support as we expand.

Your contributions will make a big difference in reaching this goal.
