I have been on the board of EENC for 7 years now! And I will be rolling off at the end of this year. I fell in love with environmental education before I really knew what it was or that it could be a career. And I found EENC through a series of wonderful events. I have seen this organization grow so much in the last 7 years and I cannot wait to see how it continues. Please join me in supporting the wonderful work of EENC and environmental educators across the state! The image below is from our 2021 EENC Conference in September
Environmental education is critical. Children and adults need to know how ecological systems work and why they matter. The health of the environment is inseparable from humans’ well-being and economic prosperity. People require knowledge, tools, and awareness to successfully address and solve environmental problems in their daily lives. And more than ever, we are all becoming increasingly aware of the systemic inequities that impact almost every aspect of our society.
It provides time in - and a connection to - the outdoors which research has shown to improve physical, mental, and emotional health. Learners not only gain environmental content knowledge but also support to become civically engaged leaders. That makes environmental education just as important for our participants as it is for the planet.

Will you help me?
Please consider supporting EENC’s mission and work. Any amount you can give brings me closer to my goal and us closer to our team goal.
Prefer to support EENC via check? You can mail a check to: EENC, PO Box 4904, Chapel Hill, NC 27515. Please let me know at sdculpepper@gmail.com if you would prefer this option so I can make sure your support is counted now toward our goal.
Wondering about my profile picture? You cannot see the complete dragon costume but it has a long history with EENC! I wore it in the ocean for a polar plunge, while filming the squirrel dance flash mob, auctioned it off while modeling it (pictured), and then just generally wearing it around the EENC conference.
