#GivingTuesday: Elevate Scholarship

This year on Giving Tuesday, Hope Now is raising funds for their Elevate Scholarship. 

The Elevate Scholarship is given to two orphans who have recently graduated from their orphanage each year. The recipients are offered acceptance and full tuition into a local Christian, college-preparatory high school, called Sophia School, where they will finish the last two years of high school. At the end of these two years, the Elevate Scholars will receive a High School Diploma from Sophia School. Receiving this diploma opens up many doors to college, university and beyond for orphans in Ukraine, a country where only 1% of orphans attend college. 

Not only does this scholarship provide hope for the future through education, but it also provides hope and community as the recipients will live with Christian host families as they attend Sophia School. These families, who are also teachers at the school, support the students, model healthy living and develop relationships with these students that will last a lifetime. 

You can be an Elevator! The cost for the scholarship is $3,500 per student each year and it is fully-inclusive as it provides: 

• Tuition to Sophia Christian School
• Hot lunches at Sophia Christian School
• Meals and accommodation in a Christian host family 
• Books and supplies
• School Clothes
• Student allowance for travel in Cherkasy
