The incarnation is not merely a doctrine to be affirmed—it is the foundation upon which all Christian hope rests. As more churches and leaders drift from this essential truth, the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals remains steadfast in its mission to provide sound, biblical teaching that prepares Christians worldwide to think and act biblically.
Your generous support of The Bible Study Hour allows this truth to be proclaimed clearly, faithfully, and without compromise. Throughout the year, your gifts help proclaim the joyous news that God draws near to sinners.
In his message “Jesus and Matthew: The Sinner’s Friend”, Dr. Boice highlights this truth with striking clarity: Jesus calls people exactly like Matthew—weak, unqualified, rejected—because of His amazing grace that saves people like Matthew, and you and me.
“If we, by the grace of God, have come to know of His salvation through Jesus Christ, it is not because we are wise, not because we are noble, not because we are strong, but because, compared to others, we are nothing. And God can use the nothing to bring glory to His name. ” -James Boice
Matthew—a tax collector despised politically, religiously, and socially—was the kind of man no one wanted. Yet Jesus went directly to him and extended the life-changing call: “Follow Me.” This same Savior, whose birth we celebrate, came “in the fullness of time” to redeem His people because of God’s great love.
This is the true meaning of Christmas—the message that Alliance broadcasts proclaim day after day. Christ left heaven for our sakes, laying aside His glory to save sinners. And as Dr. Boice emphasized, He still calls the Matthews of this world: the overlooked, the discouraged, the broken, the ones who believe they have nothing to offer.
Can you think of a better gift than the true message of Christmas?
As the year draws to a close, would you prayerfully consider making a special Christmas gift to support The Bible Study Hour? Your generosity ensures that Dr. Boice’s faithful, Christ-exalting teaching continues to reach listeners across the country and around the world.
Your support enables us to:
• Broadcast Dr. Boice’s teaching across multiple platforms.
• Make sermons freely available online for those who cannot give.
• Produce study materials and digital resources that encourage believers.
•Provide a steady diet of rich biblical exposition to a spiritually starving generation
To express our gratitude for your gift of any size, we would be delighted to send you the message, “Jesus and Matthew: The Sinner’s Friend.” It is a compelling reminder of the grace that came to us in Bethlehem and of the Savior who still seeks the outcast today.
Are you ready and willing to introduce people around the world to Jesus? Your support boldly proclaims to the world that Christ has come and the Gospel continues to transform lives today.
Your partnership is vital. As God blesses, the gifts of $25, $50, and $100 add up to underwrite this teaching and encouraging ministry. Every contribution—large or small—helps make faithful teaching accessible to listeners everywhere.
It is a privilege to serve alongside you in this work. Thank you for standing with us, for loving the Word of God, and for helping ensure that the Gospel of grace is proclaimed faithfully and without apology. May the Lord bless you richly as you celebrate the birth of the One who came for the lowly, the weary, the undeserving—people like Matthew, and people like you and me.
In Christ,
Bob Brady
