Donate now to support paid internships for emerging garden professionals at Olbrich!
raised by 50 people
Each year, Olbrich Botanical Society invests over $50,000 to fund paid internships at the Gardens. Money well-spent, the program provides interns with hands-on experience they can use to develop their skills and build their network. In return, interns are a vital resource during peak season, helping staff and volunteers complete their work, providing programming to the public, and creating outstanding plant and garden displays.
Will you help shape the next generation of garden professionals by making a gift in support of Olbrich's internship program?
Best of all, every #GivingTuesday gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $10,500 thanks to the generosity of two anonymous donors.
That means your gift of any amount will go twice as far! So if there's ever been a time to give, it's now.
Almost half of Olbrich's current Horticulture staff are former interns, and many other Olbrich interns have gone on to rewarding careers at public gardens or in other green industries.
Whether working in the outdoor gardens, in the Bolz Conservatory & greenhouses, or on our Education team, interns complete meaningful work during their time here:
- Horticulture interns rotate into a different area each week to learn how each garden is uniquely cared for
- Hort interns also help plant beautiful annual containers along Madison's State Street each summer
- Education interns create original programming for our Youth & Family audience using our mobile outdoor Discovery Cart
- Conservatory interns play a key role in creating our annual Orchid Escape exhibit in February
Thank you for your consideration and support! If you are unable to donate, consider sharing a link to this page on your social media to help spread the word.
