5. Revolutionary Character Children's Books

Every child deserves a hero they can look up to—and a story that makes them believe they, too, can change the world.

As we look toward the 250th anniversary of our nation and beyond, America250 in Idaho is on a mission to put history directly into the hands of our students. State Treasurer Julie Ellsworth has created 15 beautifully written and illustrated “Revolutionary Character” books for distribution to elementary school children across Idaho.

Putting the Future in Their Hands:

For many children, these will be the books they keep on their nightstands, the stories they read under the covers with a flashlight, and the sparks that ignite a lifelong love for their country. We want to ensure every child feels a personal connection to the courage, sacrifice, and integrity of those who came before them. Each book narrates the life of the revolutionary person the spud was patterned after.

Your Impact:

When a child opens one of these books, they aren’t just reading about the past—they are finding the blueprints for their own character. They see that “Revolutionary” isn’t just a word in a history book; it’s the bravery to stand up for what’s right, the persistence to keep going, and the heart to care for one’s neighbor.

Help us give this gift to Idaho’s children.

Your donation covers the cost of printing and the journey these books take to reach school libraries and classrooms statewide. Let’s make sure every child in Idaho knows that the American story is their story.
