Emergency Veterinary Assistance Fund - Helping Service Dogs When It Matters Most

When a service animal falls ill or gets injured, it can be one of the most frightening moments a handler can face. The companion who gives you freedom, confidence, and stability suddenly needs help of their own. For many of our members, already living on limited incomes, the high cost of emergency veterinary care can mean choosing between their own needs and the well-being of their lifeline support animal.

That’s why Rainbow Service Dogs created the Emergency Veterinary Assistance Fund, a safety net for our members when unexpected crises strike. This fund provides urgent financial assistance for veterinary emergencies, helping ensure that no service dog is lost due to preventable or treatable conditions.

This program exists entirely through community donations, and assistance is granted based on available funds. We are currently raising new contributions to replenish the fund and continue helping service dogs in need.

An application for assistance will be available soon. For now, your donations make it possible for handlers and their service dogs to stay together safe, healthy, and supported when it matters most.

Donate today to help save a service dog’s life because every hero deserves a helping hand.

Impact this year:

Recently, we were able to assist a service dog client with the expenses of an emergency C-section. This past year alone, we assisted with vaccinations for several service dog clients, as well as provided necessary medications for three dogs. Last years funds were allocated for another emergent care expense of a service dog exposed to rat poison at the complex in which the handler resided.
