You exceeded our expectations!

Update posted 5 years ago

You helped us raise over $24,000 for our senior pups' veterinary care.  You did this with open hearts and such good intentions knowing that our beloved senior dogs absolutely, positively matter.

The donation count to date is $9,705 through this Mighty Cause campaign, $14,255 through our Facebook campaign and we have donations made by check and through PayPal.  We expect more checks to come in to help our cause.

We're all struggling with how to express our gratitude in a way that truly lets every single one of you know how much this means to all of us at Lily's.

We've given love and attention to a countless number of senior dogs; we've looked in their eyes to see that love returned.  For many we see relief - finally - from pain because they received the care they need.  For some, we've been there to give them love and support at the end of their days.  We give them a bit of heaven on earth until they go to the rainbow bridge.  What a gift volunteering for Lily's Legacy is for all of Lily's Angels.

We sincerely and humbly thank you for saving so many senior dogs during this campaign.

Lily's Legacy Senior Dog Sanctuary rescues senior large-breed dogs seven years or older and 50 + pounds .

On Giving Tuesday, we are hoping to raise $17,500 to help provide much-needed medical care for current and future dogs.

Many of our dogs arrive in desperate need of veterinary treatment, medication, nutritious food, and other basic care.

All of our dogs receive:

  • Senior intake exam with vaccines, blood work, heartworm test and microchip.
  • Diagnostics - such as x-ray, ultrasound, skin scraping, fine needle aspiration, biopsy, as needed.
  • Surgical procedure(s), if needed.
  • Neutering or spaying, if needed.
  • Specialty evaluation/care - such as orthopedic, ophthalmology, dermatology, oncology, neurology, chiropractic, and acupuncture, as needed.
  • Rx medications, supplements, fluids, special diet, as needed.

The cost of veterinary care:

Our fantastic veterinarians generously discount services for our dogs. Even so, there's no getting around the necessary expense of high-quality medical care.

Our medical expenses are covered only by donations and grants, and $17,500 can easily be spent in 3- 4 months on behalf of just 8-12 dogs depending on their medical needs.

Thank you for your donation!  We know you have so many worthy causes to choose from and we're happy you chose us - and our senior dogs.

IMPORTANT!  When checking out, if you don't want to pay cover fees, please UNCHECK “Cover fees so my causes receive my full donation”.
