Lexie Needs a Second Chance After Being Left

Imagine being just a sweet little dog, loving your family with all your heart, only to find out that when they move, there’s no room for you anymore. That’s the heartbreaking reality for Lexie, a 3 year old Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to a rural shelter in southern Virginia because her owners were moving and couldn’t take her along. Lexie has already lost the only home she knew, through no fault of her own. Now, instead of the warmth and comfort of a home, this sweet little girl finds herself in a shelter, surrounded by unfamiliar faces and strange noises. She doesn’t understand why her world suddenly disappeared or why the people she depended on aren’t coming back. She wasn’t a piece of furniture that could simply be discarded during a move. She was family, and she deserved to be treated that way. Homeward Trails  desperately wants to rescue Lexie and give her the second chance she deserves, but we can’t do it without your help.
