Giving Tuesday 2022 - Love 2 Read, Inc.

One afternoon, after a tutoring session with their daughter, Madeline, John and Andrea Adams asked Ms. Mandy Walker,  “Wouldn’t it be great to start a nonprofit to try to get every student this kind of instruction?”  Mandy's immediate, enthusiastic answer was, "YES!" for this had been a dream of hers for many years.  Thus, Love 2 Read, Inc. was established with the mission to provide access to all who need this type of instruction in order to learn to read.

Our students receive one-on-one, specialized reading and spelling instruction that follows the Science of Reading within the Structured Literacy Approach, using an Orton-Gillingham-based program.   Our approach to tutoring is immersed in a spirit of partnership learning with our students and their families.  Our students often come to us with grades of D and F which transform into grades of A and B after moving step by step through our highly interactive, enthusiastic, teacher-led online lessons with our expert tutors.   Our data suggests that our students make significant gains during a school year.  

We know that when we teach one child to read, we positively change the trajectory of that child's life.  Furthermore, in teaching each child to read, the life of that child's family is improved now and for generations to come.  Truly, literacy is an important gift to each child's community.  Your donation touches the lives of everyone who loves that child.
