Saturn Video will be a non-profit video rental store and cafe aiming to build community.

$10,000 goal

Hello, I'm Sierra Evans-Parham (she/they) and I'm a film editor from Minneapolis, MN. It is my dream to open Saturn Video to bring back a film rental store in the Twin Cities under a more community-focused model than the rental stores of the past.

Our mission is to provide diverse films to the equally as diverse community of the Twin Cities through our video rental library, create a space for local filmmakers to use and screen their work, and encourage connection through the inviting cafe environment and programming for our members.

It is our intention to have a curated film selection, making world cinema and underrepresented directors' (LGBTQIA+, women, BIPOC, disabled) works the forefront of our collection with hard to find on streaming Western studio/indie films as the other portion of the library.

This first phase of fundraising will help us secure rent for a place to build out the store and anything left over will be put towards buying cafe equipment. Our ideal timeline to open would be Spring/Summer 2026.

Of course there are other ways to be involved without donating here. You can:

  • Share our campaign with your friends + network
  • Donate DVDs, Blu-Rays, VHS, film merchandise by sending us a DM here! (At this time we are not purchasing from individual collections)
  • Keep up to date with us on Instagram for volunteer opportunities coming soon - @saturnvideo.cafe

Any support is deeply appreciated and we can't wait to share the journey with all of you. Thank you!
