Hello PBS Community,

PBS has spent the past 2+ years working to develop a team of highly qualified employees that can provide individuals with autism/intellectual and developmental disabilities access to a level of care that has previously been unavailable in our region. We know that fancy buildings and corner offices are not what help children with learning differences thrive... highly trained people, using scientifically supported strategies is what makes the difference in individuals' lives. At this point our primary goal is to maintain the amazing team we have built.

The current health situation has required us to discontinue clinical services. As a parent of two children with autism, I am very aware of the concerns that many of our families have regarding the potential regression of their children’s learning and skills, increases in issues with problem behavior, and the set backs we are all likely to face if this situation continues for an extended period of time.

Our team is diligently working to expand our service options to mitigate these effects for the families and children we love.  We are looking for ways to support families as we follow the recommendations provided by state and local officials. As we look towards the next steps for how to build continuity of care, we are faced with the reality that maintaining our highly qualified team has to be a priority. In order to develop telehealth programs, in-home trainings, and other supports for families we need resources and personnel.  When we get on the other end of this, we need an army of the world's best at PBS providing these families with the support to take on any challenge that might come their way.

We are a small non-profit business with limited resources and can now expect to receive minimal incoming service revenue. But we believe we have been called to provide critical services to the special needs community and we will find a way to continue to answer that call.

Knowing these are difficult times for everyone, if you feel inclined and able or know someone who might be,  we respectfully ask you consider helping us navigate the financial challenges of this crisis by making a charitable donation. We could certainly use the help.  Anything you might do would be greatly appreciated.PBS is a registered 501c3 charity.
