Orphanages are struggling to care for children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ecuador is one of the hardest-hit countries in South America by COVID-19. A combination of a country-wide lockdown, rock-bottom oil prices (one of Ecuador’s main exports), restricted movement of goods around the country, and other factors are creating challenges for orphanages.
The funds collected in this fundraiser will support seven orphanages in Ecuador that OSSO has worked with for several years. Two of the orphanages are in the city of Quito, three are in the city of Cuenca, and two are in the city of Azogues.
These orphanages are struggling to:
- Feed the children and staff sheltering at the orphanages
- Cover rent and utility bills
- Have staff on hand to care for the children
- Pay staff who care for the children
The first $10,000 in donations we receive today will be double matched.
