Building promises for a future tomorrow: Empowering Immigrant Communities Fundraiser 

DACA-eligible residents, contribute significantly to Louisiana’s economy, boasting A substantial spending power of four point billion. However, 45.8% face language barriers, hindering integration. Louisiana ranks 47th in educational attainment, accentuating the need for targeted initiatives. Promises for a Future Tomorrow (PFAFT)  addresses economic challenges, legal issues, and language barriers, aiming to break cycles of hardship. By expanding services and fostering integration, PFAFT promotes community engagement and economic growth for this vital demographic and both greater New Orleans and St. Tammany parish as well as surrounding areas. Increasing opportunities for social and legal services further combats obstacles, creating a path to independence, and addressing the unmet needs of Louisiana’s immigrant communities.

Our Mission:  At the core of PFAFT’S mission is a commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for diverse immigrants we guide them on the path to citizenship, language proficiency, and access to crucial legal resources. Our values revolve around championing individuals, upholding integrity, fostering collaboration, and advancing quality services to ensure not just survival but thriving in new communities.

Comprehensive Services:   

ESOL Classes: PFAFT Specializes in providing ESOL classes, offering a supportive environment for individuals to enhance their language proficiency and communication skills. The goal is to empower individuals to engage confidently in their communities and workplaces.

Citizenship Instruction and Classes: Recognizing the significance of citizenship, PFAFT offers comprehensive instruction and classes to guide individuals through the process we are dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and civic participation, helping individuals build a foundation for a successful future.

Immigration Legal Representation: PFAFT serves as a trusted partner in immigration navigation, offering expert legal representation. Our equitable, supportive, and solution-driven services are led by an experienced team of professionals. Notably, PFAFT is the only immigration social service nonprofit located in Slidell, Louisiana.

Diverse Leadership: Although PFAFT is a new start up nonprofit organization, we come with the capability to build brighter futures for our community with a qualified and professional staff. PFAFT’s leadership is anchored by a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Maribel Loja, a newly naturalized U.S. Citizen with real-life immigrant experience, and Shuna Hughson, a former Immigration and Social Service Director and Business Manager, contribute their wealth of experience to our dedicated team both of these talented and skilled women worked tirelessly to help those in need achieve promises for a future tomorrow.
