Hi — I’m “Lucho" De La Cruz. You may know me as a passionate booster of our island, but I’m writing about a cause I believe in: strong, nonpartisan news coverage at the local level. 

Local news coverage is essential to our town, and every town in Miami. 

Democracy needs news —  And news needs you. 

On this Give Miami Day, pease make a donation to non-profit Miami Fourth Estate. It’s working to expand local news coverage in Miami — because most of the 34 towns here don't get regular coverage. 

We're aiming to fix that by hiring professionals who will work alongside concerned residents to create nonpartisan, fact-driven solid news reporting, town-by-town.
