Seniors Should Not Die in Shelters

Seeing older animals in shelters is the most heartbreaking scene ever. They are scared and cold and confused and sad. Many had loving owners their entire lives and lost them to illness or death with no plan in place for their care. 

These animals are often the first to be euthanized and spend their last days in a place that no senior should have to be in. We do all we can to give them the love and care and dignity they deserve even if it's for just a few days.

Our wonderful foster homes step up to provide senior and hospice care when they can. It's a tall order as these volunteers know their days are limited and seeing death come is never easy.

Many of these animals are in pain and can be treated but the testing and pain management is expensive - but worth it.
