Max's human died. He landed at a small rural shelter and given only days before euthanasia. We saved him.

We see it over and over again. A senior animal comes to a shelter terrified, alone, confused. The human died or had to go into assisted living and no one in the family wants the pet.

A loyal companion and lifeline for so many years - now facing their final days in a scary shelter. This cannot be how we treat our four-legged family members - but it happens too often. And it breaks our hearts.

Senior animals are hard to find adoptive homes for. They are expensive. They often come to us without vetting and with serious issues ranging from arthritis to obesity and heart issues. But gosh - don't they deserve what we all want in our old age? A soft bed, a pain-free day, a meal and some love?

A soft bed after weeks at a scary shelter. Nothing means more to an animal. We try our hardest to give seniors what they deserve. But it's not cheap and it's not easy. Their time with us can span months or years. But we won't stop trying to find space and funding for as many as we can help.

We can't do it without your support.
