Six Precious Lives Begging for a Chance

Sugar is only a year old, and already life has given her more heartbreak than any dog should ever have to endure. Alone, pregnant, and wandering the streets as a stray, this sweet young mama had nowhere to call home and no one to protect her. Somehow, she found her way to a stranger’s doorstep, where she gave birth to seven tiny, helpless puppies. For two short weeks, Sugar did everything she could to keep her babies safe, warm, and fed, only for her little family to end up in a shelter when her puppies were barely old enough to open their eyes. Even more heartbreaking, two of her precious babies were found with mysterious wounds and needed veterinary care. Thankfully, those two little ones are being helped by another rescue, but Sugar and her remaining five puppies are still waiting for someone to save them. Imagine being just a baby yourself, trying desperately to care for five newborns in the frightening, unfamiliar surroundings of a shelter. Sugar doesn’t understand why her world keeps changing or why she can’t seem to find a safe place to raise her family. All she knows is that her babies need her, and she has to keep going.
