A Family Desperate for a Second Chance

Nugget and Manny are two sweet Chihuahuas who recently became proud parents to eight tiny, two-week-old puppies. Their little family of 10 is part of a heartbreaking situation, owned by a woman who, despite her love for her dogs, was unable to afford to spay and neuter them. What started as a few Chihuahuas has grown into 19 dogs, overwhelming her and creating an overcrowded and challenging living situation. While other rescues are stepping in to spay and neuter some of the dogs she’s keeping, Homeward Trails Rescue is working to bring Nugget, Manny, and their puppies to the DC area, where they can finally have the chance to find loving, forever homes.
