On the Ground in Southwest Virginia Saving Lives!

Our Trails UP team is back on the ground in Russell and Wise Counties in southwestern Virginia to provide spay/neuter, vaccines, microchips, and any other vetting needed for 64 cats and kittens. Kitten season is still underway so this provides lifesaving services for many cats, preventing litters who would needlessly suffer. 

Summer is always a hard time of year on the animals and the people who care for them and this year no different. The community has experienced heavy rains, mudslides, and flash flooding - stretching already scarce resources. 

Caregivers are doing their best to keep their cats healthy and fed, but times are tough with some having to chose whether to feed themselves or their cats. And given that choice, the caregivers often go hungry to provide for their animals.
