Why I'm Fundraising for Transit Alliance Miami!
As a disability activist in Miami, I’m passionate about improving our city’s accessibility in public transit, keeping pedestrians safe by reducing car dependency, and pushing for the full repair of all elevators and escalators that have been broken since 2019.
Transportation shapes every aspect of our community — from job access to where we live — and it gives us the freedom to move, especially as disabled riders.
By supporting Paula's fund, you're investing in:
Accessible public transit — ensuring every rider, including those with disabilities, can move safely and independently.
Safer streets — reducing car dependency and protecting pedestrians across Miami by reducing traffic.
Accountability and equity — advocating for the repair of elevators and escalators neglected since 2019.
Inclusive training — providing hands-on accessibility awareness for bus drivers and transit staff.
Community-led change — empowering riders to lead audits and push for the improvements our city deserves.
Organize with resident chapters across Miami-Dade to promote greater accessibility
As a disabled rider in Miami, I’ve spent years navigating a system that often leaves people like me behind. From elevators out of service for months to sidewalks that end in the middle of the street, I’ve seen firsthand how infrastructure shapes opportunity, and accessibility drives innovation. I care because I know that when transit works for disabled riders, it works better for everyone.
Every contribution brings us closer to a Miami where everyone can move freely and sustainably. Together, we can create a more connected, accessible, and vibrant Miami. Thank you for your support!
