I want to tell you about a place where love never gives up—Esther’s Children’s Home in Ombego, Kenya.

It’s run by Vincent and Alice, a young couple who have devoted their lives to caring for children who have no one else. When we visited in 2022 and again in 2024, we saw 35 children—sometimes as many as 50—being fed, clothed, and loved in a home built on faith, grit, and compassion.

There’s no government funding. No steady income. Just two people doing everything they can to make sure these children are safe and cared for.

They’ve turned animal waste into biofuel to cook meals. They’ve grown crops to feed the children. They’ve built showers and bathrooms to meet government standards. And they’ve done it all with joy and determination.

But now, they need help.

To keep the home running and move closer to self-reliance, we must raise $10,000. This will cover:

  • $2,400 for the annual lease of 15 acres of farmland

  • $1,000 for seeds and fertilizer for two growing seasons

  • $5,000 for a solar power system to eliminate costly electricity bills

  • $1,600 to build a permaculture kitchen garden and update the kitchen

Your gift will do more than provide food or electricity—it will give these children a future.

When the potato crop failed this summer due to bugs and heavy rains, Vincent didn’t give up. He replanted. When the rain harvesting system caused flooding, we helped install cement walkways and redirect the water. Every step forward has been hard-won, but it’s working. The farm is growing. The children are thriving. And with your help, we can go even further.

Please consider giving $50, $100, $250, or $500—or whatever feels right to you. You can also become a monthly donor and walk alongside these children all year long.

Your kindness will echo in the laughter of children who feel safe, in the meals shared around a table, and in the hope that grows from the soil of a small farm in Kenya.

Thank you for being part of this story.
