St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church was established by immigrants in 1900. Its current home at 3450 Irving Avenue S. was built in 1956, and is known to many for its gold dome overlooking Bde Maka Ska. Prior to this, the church was in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood, on the northwest corner of Lake Street and 10th Ave for 46 years. The congregation now has people from many different backgrounds, some born into the church, others joined through marriage, and those seeking of the faith. Services are conducted in English and all are welcome.
