Carmella is Stuck in an Overcrowded Shelter

Wandering alone as a stray in southern Virginia, 2-year-old Beagle Carmella was forced to navigate a scary world on her own. Without a warm bed, a reliable food bowl, or a loving hand, this sweet girl was left to face the constant dangers that stray dogs encounter every day.

Though Carmella was eventually brought to a shelter, her journey is far from over. She is currently waiting in a local shelter that is over capacity. Under-resourced shelters facing space constraints are forced to manage an overwhelming number of animals, making long shelter stays particularly stressful for a young, active Beagle who longs for affection and security. The loud, echoing kennels and limited space make it difficult for sweet dogs like Carmella to get the attention and space they so desperately need.
