We'd like you to imagine this moment. It’s the first day of school. Children are excited, their hearts filled with hope for the year ahead. But for many children in rural Ethiopia, that joy is overshadowed by one painful reality—they arrive barefoot, without a uniform, without even a pencil or notebook. Instead of walking into the classroom with confidence, they walk in carrying the weight of poverty. At VSI, we believe no child should ever start the school year that way.
This year we provided school uniforms and education supplies to 700 school children in need. We are raising $20,000 so we can provide supplies to even more children in need. Our goal is to reach 900 students by end of 2025, and this campaign will set us up to do that.
