They care for us. This Giving Tuesday, we care for them.

Every day at Zenhorse®, our herd of formerly wild mustangs partners with humans navigating trauma, grief, recovery, cancer, life transitions and the simple work of finding their way back to themselves.

They do this work simply by being who they are.

They simply need to be horses.

And horses need hay. A lot of hay.

Especially in winter.

For horses, hay isn't just nourishment. The process of digesting forage generates heat from within, helping them maintain their body temperature when temperatures drop.

In other words, hay helps keep horses warm from the inside out.

That makes a full barn more than a stocked feed supply. It means knowing that when the coldest nights of winter arrive, our herd has what they needs to stay fed, warm and well.

Our herd consumes approximately 10 bales every day.

That's 3,650 bales a year.

At today's average cost of $7.62 per bale, keeping hay in front of the Zenhorse® herd costs approximately $27,813 every year.

So this Giving Tuesday, we're setting our biggest hay goal yet:

3,650 bales. One full year of hay.

And we aren't starting alone.
