2025 Kizuna Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday, Support the Next Generation of Community Leaders! 🌟

Over the past 10 years, Kizuna Summer Camp has created thousands of joyful memories for youth while connecting them to their Japanese American heritage. One of the most beloved traditions is our Little Tokyo Field Trip Day, where campers explore our historic Japantown, learn from community organizations, and discover the stories that shaped generations before them. In 2025, we brought 542 campers and counselors to our Japantown. For many, it’s their first-ever visit to Little Tokyo… and for some, their only visit all year.

🚌 A Day They’ll Never Forget:
Campers step off the bus in matching Kizuna summer camp shirts, wide-eyed and excited for a day filled with photo scavenger hunts, local museum or Japanese garden tours, and of course, their favorite Japanese snacks and sweets. Counselors guide them through bustling summer streets, sharing stories of the people and places that make Little Tokyo a vibrant home for our community.

With only four Japantowns left in the United States, these field trips give young people a chance to experience a living, breathing piece of Japanese American history. By exploring Little Tokyo firsthand, campers build a sense of pride, belonging, and responsibility to protect this cultural treasure for future generations.
