Mama shouldn’t have to be fighting this hard. She was surrendered to a rural West Virginia shelter with her three surviving one week old puppies, after losing three tiny babies before anyone could help her. This little family is hanging on, but a shelter is no place for newborns with fragile immune systems, and Mama is doing everything she can to keep them warm, fed, and alive. She’s exhausted, scared, and trying her best in a place that was never meant for a nursing mother.
