2025 MVCS PTA Giving Tuesday Matching Gift Drive

The Mount Vernon Community School PTA is dedicated to building a school community that supports students, parents and teachers so all children have access to a vibrant, enriching place to learn. This Giving Tuesday, we are focusing our efforts on raising funds for MVCS's Blessings in a Backpack program. 

Many of our MVCS kids are experiencing an increase in food insecurity during these uncertain times. They receive healthy meals at school during the week but need access to healthy food on Saturday and Sunday. That's where Blessings in a Backpack (BIAB) comes in. Each Friday, MVCS staff discreetly distribute bags filled with nutritious, kid-friendly snacks and meals to students in need. Please join us in preventing weekend hunger by making a gift this Giving Tuesday, which, thanks to the generosity of Jen Walker, will be MATCHED for 2x the impact!

Your donation makes a BIG difference:

$25 = one month of weekend food for a student

$50 = fresh fruit for all BIAB students for a month

$75 = weekend food for a student for a quarter

$100 = half a year of weekend food for a student

$200 = a FULL year of weekend food for a student

During this season of Thanksgiving, many of us pause in gratitude for our blessings. Please keep the spirit of gratitude and giving alive this Giving Tuesday by making a generous donation to PTA so we can continue to support Blessings in a Backpack, and all of the wonderful MVCS program supported by our PTA, including: scholarships for after-school programming, funding for field trips and tutoring so all students have the opportunity to grow, teacher grants so teachers don't have to buy supplies out of pocket, and grants for eyecare, dental care, and other health needs for children at MVCS.
