Story
Helping Thy Neighbor was founded in 2024 by Carolyn Green, whose heart for service began through a simple act of volunteering. Carolyn met a remarkable woman named Betty at a local farmer’s market, where she began assisting with day-to-day operations of Betty’s outreach efforts. Betty’s compassion for others left a lasting impression on Carolyn. When Betty passed away, Carolyn felt a deep call to continue the mission of helping those in need.
What We Do
What began as a small effort to fight food insecurity has now grown into a broader mission. Helping Thy Neighbor provides essential resources to promote self-sufficiency, ensuring that individuals and families can move from crisis to stability. Our work extends beyond food—offering support with housing, clothing, and valuable information that connects people to opportunities and tools for long-term independence.
