Our community is facing an unprecedented challenge due to the federal government shutdown. A direct and immediate consequence of this shutdown is the suspension of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, also known as EBT or food stamps, for many families beginning [State the date the benefits are expected to lapse, e.g., November 1st, 2025].

This loss of essential food assistance will create a severe crisis for our most vulnerable residents, including children, seniors, and working families who rely on these benefits to put food on the table. For many, this is the only way they can afford groceries.

We are writing to ask for your urgent support. The need is immediate and the gap created by the lapse in federal funding is too large for existing food pantries and charities to fill alone. We must work together to ensure that no family in our community goes hungry.
