Life was not only rough for Taco and Carol, but also for their owner. Their owner was found very pregnant, living in her broken down car in the 90 degree heat when an animal control officer found them.
The local shelter was full - if they took Taco and Carol in, dogs would have to be euthanized to make room. The owner was days away from giving birth, but the local women's shelter didn't allow dogs so she refused to go, instead saying in her car in the dangerous heat without food for herself or the pups.
Working quickly, the ACO reached out to a private rescuer to secure a temporary foster for Taco and Carol. Now that Taco and Carol have a temporary foster, the owner has agreed to enter the shelter so she can get ready for her delivery.
However, these beloved dogs still have nowhere to go...and the shelter will be their only option. Our hearts break for the human and the dogs and we really want to be able to tell this poor human that her dogs are safe.
