DMC Promise Giving Tuesday Fundraiser: The Postpartum Shower
Goal: $10,000 for Black Maternal Health
This Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025, we are urgently raising $10,000 to fund our most impactful event: The Annual Postpartum Shower.
The reality is stark: Black women in America face maternal mortality rates significantly higher than those of other racial groups. This crisis is rooted in systemic challenges, including structural racism and implicit bias, that impact the quality and accessibility of care, as highlighted in the video below.
The DMC Promise Foundation is actively fighting this disparity by providing a vital "village" of support for Black mothers in the Baltimore area. The Postpartum Shower is a full-day event designed to counteract these adverse outcomes by fostering perinatal and maternal mental health.
Your donation directly funds a day of dignity, celebration, and essential resources, which includes:
Mental Health Support: Facilitating workshops focused on reducing postpartum depression and anxiety.
Educational Panels: Connecting new mothers with experts in postpartum care and baby wellness.
The "Village" Connection: Creating a welcoming space for mothers to connect, network, and realize they are not alone.
Essential Supplies: Providing every mother with critical baby essentials (diapers, wipes, etc.) and gifts to help ease the financial burden of a new baby.
We need your help to reach our $10,000 goal. Every dollar ensures a mother feels safe, heard, and respected during the crucial postpartum period.
How your donation helps:
$50 helps fund a postpartum mental health workshop.
$100 provides a gift bag full of essentials for one mother.
$500 sponsors the participation of five mothers in the Postpartum Shower.
Stand with the DMC Promise Foundation and invest in Black Maternal Health this Giving Tuesday. Please donate today to help us crown resilience and celebrate new life!
