"A Wild Idea" - Support the Red Wolf Coalition!

OUR CHALLENGE TO EVERYONE WHO LOVES RED WOLVES

The Red Wolf Coalition urges all Red Wolf advocates and activists to make a positive difference for Red Wolves with a gift to support the important work of our dedicated and high-impact organization.

How will your dollars be used? Here are a few of the ways we will put your gifts to work for the Reds. We will:

1.  . . . cover the cost of all coyote sterilizations for the USFWS Red Wolf Recovery Program. This has proved to be a highly successful strategy for increasing wild Red Wolf numbers.
2.  . . . cover the cost of veterinary care for sick or injured wild Red Wolves at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
3.  . . . fund the Red Wolf Coalition "Red Wolf Depredation Fund" to cover the cost, based on current fair-market value, of domestic livestock verified to have been killed or injured by a Red Wolf.
4.  . . . support the Red Wolf "Save Animals From Extinction" (SAFE) Program institutions with mini grants and educational programs.
5.  . . . develop and implement education and program materials for public outreach to schools and community groups including our scholarship program for Red Wolf recovery area students entering college.
6.  . . . directly support special projects needed by the Red Wolf Recovery Program. Examples include an electronic highway sign and a remotely located acclimation enclosure.
7. . . . work with local landowners and stakeholders in the Red Wolf recovery region and with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to grow the wild population of Red Wolves.
8.  . . . fund our operational expenses including out storefront office on Main Street in Columbia, NC, the heart of Red Wolf country.
