OCTOBER 1-31 FEATURED NONPROFIT:
No One Should Face Cancer Alone
For people living in rural communities, a cancer diagnosis can bring challenges that reach far beyond treatment. Long drives to medical appointments, rising fuel and food costs, and limited nearby support can make an already difficult journey feel overwhelming.
Angel Wings Network helps cancer patients and families across rural Southwest Idaho and Eastern Oregon meet those challenges with practical assistance and compassionate care, always free of charge. Its services include transportation to treatment, fuel and meal assistance, comfort care bags and emotional support from volunteers who understand the cancer journey.
The impact is significant. In 2025, volunteers donated more than 17,200 hours and drove over 42,000 miles to help patients access treatment. The organization also provided more than $42,000 in fuel assistance and more than $40,000 in grocery and meal support.
As this month’s featured nonprofit for The 208 Way, Angel Wings Network reminds us what is possible when a community shows up with a ride, a meal, a listening ear or a helping hand.
Your gift can help ensure that more cancer patients and their families receive the care and support they need, close to home. This month, donations will be matched up to $3,000, doubling the impact of every gift.
Donors preferring to make a donation via check can make those payable to:
