$35,000 Goal

Dear: Educate America Fundraising Campaign Donors:

Thank you for your interest in the Educate America, Inc. (EAI) “Giving Tuesday” fundraising campaign.  We are pleased to introduce you to our mission, history and programs in partnership with Title I public schools, faith-based programs, youth recreation centers, and other community stakeholders that align with our funding needs.

The mission of Educate America Inc. (EAI) is to provide educational and mentoring services for Title I and low-income youth with an emphasis on literacy, critical thinking and entrepreneurial-focused STEAM programs to enhance the academic success and workforce readiness of underrepresented youth for positive life outcomes and long-term success.

As a non-profit start-up, EAI has recently partnered with Prince William County Schools (PWCS) to provide afterschool tutoring and mentoring programs, and summer Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) programs for students who are struggling in school and less likely to transition successfully into adulthood.  We also provide Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities for Prince William County (PWC) high school students and local college students to earn community service (CS) credit hours while developing their knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs)---which positively impacts student achievement and workforce readiness.

EAI recently launched its pilot afterschool tutoring and mentoring program at a Title I elementary school in Woodbridge, VA.  EAI will be launching its pilot STEAM program next Summer 2025.  EAI is planning to provide tutoring and mentoring services to additional Title I public schools in Prince William County, VA, surrounding Virginia counties—and eventually in the broader DC metro area.  We will be offering the following educational programs in partnership with Title I public schools, faith-based programs, youth recreation centers, and other community stakeholders that align with our funding requirements:

  • After-School Tutoring
  • Summer STEAM Programs
  • In-School Mentor Programs

We are seeking donations for our afterschool mentor-tutor and summer STEAM programs, which will be free to Title I and low-income K-12 youth in Prince William County, VA, surrounding Virgnia counties, and eventually the DC metro area.  Our goal is to provide afterschool mentor-tutor and summer STEAM programs to between 500 to 3,000 students each academic year during the first 3 to 5 years after implementation of the tutoring and mentoring programs cited above.

To develop and provide free tutoring and mentoring programs to Title I and low-income K-12 youth in Prince William County, VA, surrounding Virgnia counties, and eventually the DC metro area—we are soliciting the generous support of individuals, community and corporate partners, and funders like the Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation.  As we implement the EAI afterschool program for the 2024-25 academic year in partnership with PWC Title I public schools—we are respectfully requesting a gift of $20,000 to help offset the following costs associated with developing and implementing free tutoring and mentoring programs to Title I and underserved K-12 youth in the DC metro area.

  • STEAM Instructor Fees: $20,000
  • Volunteer Stipends: $15,000

We are grateful for the opportunity to present this proposal to you so that we may explore opportunities for a partnership between Educate America, Inc. and our donors or community stakeholders to provide tutoring, mentoring and STEAM programs tailored to historically underserved youth in both urban, suburban and rural communities.

Thank you again for your interest in supporting our mission and organization.

In Community,
