As repression grows, so too must our ability to respond rapidly, compassionately, and without hesitation. Your donations allow for JFMF to be flexible to meet the needs of this moment and so many more to come. We continue to work towards futures that include all of us.
That's why we have a goal to raise $10,000 through grassroots fundraising this holiday season.
This past year at Justice for Migrant Families, we have been building on our years of organizing to be able to meet this moment with fortitude, love and connection. The right’s use of expanded surveillance, escalating deportation operations, and the quiet normalization of tactics that amount to the kidnapping and disappearance of migrants have dominated our newsfeeds and social media, showing again and again how the forces of fascism are growing bolder in their attempts to divide and dehumanize. The right has called this “safety”, but every day, our neighbors are showing what real safety looks like: community care.
This year has shown us what our communities are truly capable of. Justice for Migrant Families’ staff, volunteers and community partners have doubled down on our efforts to support folks in detention through our hotline and detention support programs, deepened our accompaniment program, organized and advocated for progressive legislation to support migrant families across New York State and have built up a community defense and support program that has been able to meet the urgent needs of community members when ICE knocks on their doors. Our communities heard the call and showed up with courage.
But sustaining this kind of community defense requires more than courage. It requires resources, coordination, and the steady support of people who believe that human dignity is non-negotiable. As repression grows, so too must our ability to respond rapidly, compassionately, and without hesitation. Your donations allow for JFMF to be flexible to meet the needs of this moment and so many more to come. We continue to work towards futures that include all of us.
Your support allows this work to continue. It ensures that when ICE shows up in the middle of the night, there is someone to answer the phone to support. When a family needs emergency shelter, food, or transportation, we can respond. When our communities are under attack, they are not standing alone.
Thank you for joining our work. Together, we have it all.
