Prevention is about saving lives. While the year brought many unique challenges, The Clinton Substance Abuse Council remained focused on protecting and preventing youth substance use.
Why Prevention Matters
Strong, connected communities don’t wait for a crisis, they invest early. Prevention gives young people the skills, support, and relationships they need to make healthy choices. It strengthens families, builds resilience, and creates safer neighborhoods for everyone. For more than 30 years, the Clinton Substance Abuse Council has led community‑wide prevention efforts that bring together parents, schools, youth, law enforcement, healthcare, and local leaders. Our work is rooted in one belief:
Every young person deserves to grow up in a community that protects their potential.
Our Immediate Need
This #GivingTuesday, we are raising funds to sustain and strengthen prevention programs across Clinton County. As grant cycles shift and community needs grow, donor support ensures that prevention remains strong, stable, and accessible year‑round. Your gift helps us:
Prevention doesn’t pause—and your support ensures we don’t either.
Your Impact
Every contribution fuels long‑term, community‑wide change. Any amount helps build a safer, healthier future for Clinton County youth. When you give, you’re not just supporting a program, you’re investing in a community where young people can thrive.
Our Commitment
We believe prevention is a shared responsibility. Your support helps us continue the work of building resilient families, informed youth, and connected communities. Together, we can ensure that prevention remains strong today, tomorrow, and for the next generation.

The Clinton Substance Abuse Council(CSAC)is the non-profit organization that supports the Camanche-DeWitt Coalition, Gateway ImpACT Coalition, and other coalitions and alliances. The CSAC acts as a fiscal sponsor for the coalitions by extending our 501(c)3, tax-exempt status to a coalition/project so that they may solicit tax-deductible contributions and grants and operate under the “umbrella” of that organization. The purpose of Clinton Substance Abuse Council is to build strong, stable and informed community-based coalitions in the gateway area for the purpose of establishing healthy and caring communities free of substance abuse and related behavioral health issues. The Clinton Substance Abuse Council is one of the oldest substance use coalitions in the United States. Since incorporating in 1989, CSAC has expanded throughout the Clinton County area and expanded our areas of focus. For more information visit: www.csaciowa.org
