Corcoran Neighborhood Organization

The Corcoran Neighborhood Organization (CNO) works in partnership with community based organizations across Minneapolis to improve the livability, safety, and belonging of our residents. CNO organizes meaningful events for our residents to deepen neighborhood connection, joy, and power. We have offered homeownership workshops for people interested in owning homes, work with renters support groups, supported neighbors in starting seeds, and created a free resource fair. CNO also assists state, city, and organizational outreach to increase diverse public participation by engaging historically forgotten residents meaningfully and effectively on policies and programs that impact them. . 

CNO is responsible for organizing one of the finest (and oldest) farmers markets in Minneapolis, the Midtown Farmers Market, which was the first farmers market in the state to accept EBT in 2003. The Midtown Farmers Market aims to create a vibrant forum in South Minneapolis that connects community residents and nearby rural food producers in a mutually beneficial economic and cultural exchange.We envision a community-based food system that assures equitable access to healthy, locally produced food, supports reinvestment in the community, and provides for the long-term viability of our foodshed.

In 2025, the Midtown Farmers Market:

• Hosted 25 markets visited by a total of ~20,000 market patrons
• Brought over $60,000 into the local food and arts economy by supporting over 50 local farmers and small businesses 
• Offered harm reduction supplies, free snacks, and personal care items to community members; hosted over 22 local organizations who connected residents to important community resources and services. 
• Collaborated with over 25 artists, musicians, chefs, and educators to create opportunities for residents to engage with arts, music, and theater.
